The Green Building Literacy Lab is a research team dedicated to advancing green building education for youth and the general public. We examine the potential for green buildings to enhance sustainability education through building design, interpretive strategies and formal curriculum projects.
A green building literate citizen understands the what and why of green building design and ultimately how to engage in transformative green buildings practices. The open-access article linked below advances a novel framework for green building literacy. This work can be the starting point for lesson planning to catalyze green building education in a variety of formal and informal settings.
